How
can we collaborate effectively for sustainable development? Let’s find out by
looking at the example of the Arup Workplace office in Warsaw.
The pursuit of perfection is a path that has no end. In the context of the present times, excellence can be sustainable development understood as a process.
Sustainable development is a considerable challenge that can’t be solved alone, which is why the 17th UN Sustainable Development Goal is ‘Partnership for the Goals’.
Ove Arup’s key speech from 50 years ago is still relevant, and it was the basis for our cooperation with Workplace. Following his words, the creators of the project set the course of action based on three slogans:
Integration of different disciplines: “Only close integration of different services or disciplines will bring the desired results.”
Values: “I don’t see the point of creating a company with offices worldwide without the values that unite us all.”
Some flexibility: “I don’t like rigid rules, ideologies and the like. They do more harm than good.”
Thanks to this approach, Arup’s office is full of innovative solutions, pioneering materials and prototype elements requiring bold decisions.
